| Requirements For Downloading the
HandiMark Upgrade: |

*This upgrade requires a com port cable with a 9 pin
male connection on one end and a phone style connector on the other. These can
be ordered by part#  42004
|

**To download file scroll down to the bottom of the
instructions and double click the attachment. You will then be given to save to
disk or run from current location. If you are running from a modem connection
select save to disk and insert diskette into floppy drive. If you are running
from an ISDN connection and the printer is directly connected to that pc you
can run from location and install immediately. See full installation
instructions below. |

| HandiMark Upgrade Instructions for
Win 95/98 NT 4.0, Win 2000 and Win XP Pro |
- Connect cable to com port located on the back of
the PC ( this will be a 9 pin male connector ). The other end should be
connected to the HandiMark, phone style connector. (HandiMark should be turned
off ).
- Insert disk into floppy drive
- Once disk is placed into floppy drive. Click START
then RUN.
- Type in A:\Upgrd32.exe. then click OK.
- Printer Upgrade Wizard appears on the computer.
- Make sure HandiMark battery is fully charged, if a
battery is being used.
- To place HandiMark in upgrade mode: press down on
ENTER and at the same time turn unit ON. The message "START UPGRADE UTILITY ON
PC" should appear.
- Click NEXT on the Printer Upgrade Wizard on the
computer.
- SERIAL PORT should be COM 1 on PC ( COM 1 will be
used in most cases ). If an error appears that states "CHECK PRINTER AND PC COM
SETTINGS AND MAKE SURE PRINTER IS IN UPGRADE MODE" you will need to select a
different com port. You may want to try COM 2.
- Click NEXT (You may have to wait several moments
for screen to change)
- Click FINISH
- Upgrade will take 4-8 minutes.
- When complete PC will display "UPGRADE WAS
SUCCESSFUL"
- Click OK.
- Turn your HandiMark off and back on again, version
1.09 should appear in the scroll.
- YOURE FINISHED! !
